WELSH-BELGIAN POETRY WORKSHOP
The 2007 Welsh Literature Abroad - Het Beschrijf Brussels translation workshopOn November 15, 2007, Welsh poets Richard Gwyn, Gwyneth Lewis and Patrick McGuinness spent the day at Passa Porta, the international house of literature in Brussels, collaborating with the Flemish poets Eva Cox and Erik Spinoy, and the Dutch poet Benno Barnard, on mutual translations of their poems. The translation workshop was organised by Welsh Literature Abroad and Het beschrijf, a Brussels-based literary organisation that seeks to build briges between Flanders and French-speaking Belgium, and between Flemish and international literature. Transcript is pleased to publish both the English and Dutch language fruits of this workshop in this issue.
