NEW TURKISH POETRY
distantDodan Ergül
in the dark streets of a crowded city
an alternative eye sees everything
meaning loses itself just where it is found
in the dark streets
someone puts the sea to sleep
singing the lullaby of the fishing boat
sleep is the surface of the sea
Hurt by love
i melt
the ice
on the photographs
with my eyes
lost in the wind
i am a traveler
who offers
his love
once more
with the patience
of yellowed leaves
my way is towards
nothingness
it is a circle
for one hurt by love
it is impossible
he offers himself
as he is
to the time
but time
is a photograph
forgotten
since long ago
