Celia Hawkesworth
Celia Hawkesworth is Reader Emerita in Serbian and Croatian, University College London. Her published works include a monograph on the work of Ivo Andrić, Bridge between East and West (1984), Voices in the Shadows: Women and Verbal Art in Serbia and Bosnia (2000) and A History of Central European Women’s Writing (2001). She began translating in the late 1960s and has had many translations of Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian fiction published, including several works by Ivo Andrić and Dubravka Ugrešić.
