Lina Theodorou

Lina Theodorou is a Greek artist who lives and works in Athens, primarily through video and installations.

She studied at the School of Graphic Arts and creative Studies, TEI, Athens, at the School of Fine Arts of Athens (Sculpture ) and at the School of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Multimedia, The Hague, Holland.

In many works she experiments with the ambiguity of the images and deal with concepts such as innocent/ subversive, tempting/ deadly, beautiful/ disastrous, scary/ attractive. Combining the actual meaning of the information with the subjective conception of reality through the process of drawings, filming and writings, she attempts to chart a subconscious fear and anxiety in relation to matters such as the untraceable source and exertion of power, restriction of knowledge, information fabrication and the feeling of totalitarian control in the urban environment.

She has participated in shows at National museum of contemporary art, Athens, EMAF, European media art festival, Osnabrueck, Deste Foundation, Athens, Neue Galerie am Landesmuseum Joanneum, Graz, Museum Fridericianum, Kassel, 8th international Istanbul Biennial, ev+a Limerick Biennial, 53rd International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, 11th International Architecture Exhibition Venice Biennial, State Museum Of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki.

She is also co-founder of the art platform intothepill.
