Adrian Grima

Adrian Grima (born in 1968) teaches Maltese Literature at the University of Malta and has read papers on literature, culture and the Mediterranean at conferences in Europe and the USA.

His books of poetry include the prize-winning collections It-Trumbettier (1999) and Riħ min-Nofsinhar (with Immanuel Mifsud, 2008), a book of poetry about climate change, and Rakkmu (2006). His poetry has been translated into 16 languages and published in international collections.

Some of his poems translated into English have appeared in The Tragedy of the Elephant (Inizjamed and Midsea Books, 2005). Hochroth of Berlin have published a collection of his poems translated into German. He also writes poems and short stories for children.

Adrian Grima has read his poetry at various festivals including, most recently, Bali, Berlin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Budapest, Cyprus, Slovenia, and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. He is the coordinator of Inizjamed that organizes the Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival within LAF.
