Joe Steve Ó Neachtain
Joe Steve Ó Neachtain was born and reared in Spiddal, Co. Galway, where he resides. He is well-known throughout the country for his part in the TG4 soap opera Ros na Rún. Scread Mhaidne (2003) is his first novel. He has also written short stories, pantomimes, plays, songs, poetry, scripts, sketches, and work for children and teenagers. He also wrote the drama series Baile an Droichid which ran for ten years on Raidió na Gaeltachta. He was awarded the Cló Iar-Chonnachta Literary Prize in 1998 for his anthology of short stories Clochmhóin, and in 2001 for his novel Lámh Láidir.
